Other Deleted Scenes

The following scenes can be found in the novelization and concept art.

Maisie Meets Beta Alternative

In the junior novelization, Maisie feeds Beta toast and says that it has marmalade on it and the next time she feeds her, she will try peanut butter. Owen appears and when he sees Beta, he realises why he had seen two sets of footprints in the snow. Maisie then asks how Blue had an offspring. Owen replies that Vlue was made in a laboratory.

Alternate Malcolm Speech

There was a different speech that Ian Malcolm said at the beginning of the film:

In the mind of a human being, a hundred years is a long time, but to the Earth a hundred years is nothing. A million years… nothing. We’ve been guests here for the blink of an eye and if we’re gone tomorrow, the Earth she ain’t gonna miss us. My point is that the planet is not in jeopardy, we are in jeopardy. Human beings have no greater right to safety and liberty than any other creature on this planet. We not only lack dominion over nature, we’re subordinate to it. Yet, humans destroy things so effectively. I sometimes wonder, “Is that our function?” maybe every few eons an animal comes along that’s exceptionally murderous so that evolution can proceed to its next phase. And now here we are with the opportunity to rewrite life […]

Ellie Shows The Locust To Grant

In the junior novelization, Ellie and Grant are looking at the locust in his tent. Alan touched it through its cage with a pencil and its wings fluttered and it changed colour. Ellie says that Grant is the only person she trusts with this. Ellie tries to convince Alan to go to Biosyn but Alan is unsure. Ellie says that science and life are messy and that they should stop a big company like Biosyn for inventing such a deadly pest.

Lowery Working at CIA

The character of Lowery Cruthers was going to return from Fallen Kingdom but due to actor Jake Johnson’s schedule and the COVID-19 pandemic, he didn’t. Some concept art of him was released, showing him working at the CIA and talking to Owen and Claire at a cafe. Franklin Webb did that part instead. There is still a shot of Cruthers in the film. When Franklin scrolls through his tablet, you can see his CIA agent profile.

Black Market

The scene in Malta was going to be a lot longer with an appearance from an Elmisaurus which Kayla was going to ship. There was going to be a fight sequence between an Oviraptor and Lystrosaurus where the Oviraptor would be told off by its owner. The Allosaurus kills another person and throws it towards the Carnotaurus. This scene can be seen in the Extended Cut.

Malta

Originally, there was going to be a Suchomimus and a Carnotaurus chasing people. The Suchomimus was replaced with the Allosaurus.

Pyroraptor

It is rumoured that there was going to be footage with the Pyroraptor. There was a bit more dialogue in the novelization and there was also a Pyroraptor vs. Dilophosaurus Lego set that was released.

Malcolm Driving

There was a scene where Malcolm was driving full speed through the burning Biosyn Sanctuary and Alan Grant was telling him to slow down as he was about to kill them all.

Locust Sample

In the junior novelization, the locust sample that Ellie took from the Biosyn lab would have fallen into the Giganotosaurus’s mouth at the research outpost’s balcony. Later, Alan finds the smoking locust there. He puts it on a table and Ellie snaps off a leg, which she uses as a new DNA sample. You can see part of this scene in the second trailer, where Ellie is hanging from the balcony and screaming “No, no” – perhaps after the locust has fallen into its mouth.

Alternate Final Battle

The final battle was going to take place outside a research outpost and the Pyroraptor would fight the Giganotosaurus instead of the Therizinosaurus.

T-Rex Flashback

After the Giganotosaurus first defeats the T-Rex, there was going to be a flashback from the Prologue where a T-Rex was killed by the Giganotosaurus in the Cretaceous period.
