When Jurassic World: Dominion was released on Blu-Ray, it featured an Extended Cut of the film that was 13 minutes and 43 seconds longer than the theatrical version. This section includes those scenes as well as scenes found in the novelisation and concept art.
Extended Version
Prologue
The prologue is set 65 million years ago and shows a T. rex encountering a Giganotosaurus. They fight and the T-Rex is killed. As it died, a mosquito bit the dinosaur and the T-Rex DNA was left for InGen to find. In the present, after having escaped Lockwood Manor, a T. rex invades a ride-in cinema.
Owen & Rainn Delacourt
After Owen, Rosa and Shep take the Parasaurolophus, they encounter a group led by Rainn Delacourt. They pretend to be employees of the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and present their badges. Owen says he’s lying and Rosa and Shep have gold badges of the Fish and Wildlife Service and they don’t recognise him. The group want the dinosaur, so everybody draws their guns. Owen remarks that it could fetch $500,000 because they want to make bone powder from its bones. Owen, realising he’s outnumbered, eventually releases the dinosaur. Shep says that this is the first time Owen has backed down from a fight and Owen says he has obligations.
Maisie & Blue
After Maisie crosses the bridge on her bike, she sees Blue running through the forest. As Maise stares into the forest, Blue stares back at her.
Maisie In The Store
Maisie enters a store to buy bait and a Hershey’s bar. The cashier asks why she’s not in school and Maisie says that she is home-schooled. The cashier asks where home is, but Maisie just glares at her.
Blue Kills Two Hunters
After Beta kills the wolf, two hunters attempt to shoot Beta but miss. Blue then charges, leaps and kills the two hunters.
Bonfire Talk
Owen and Maisie are sitting by a bonfire and Owen teaches Maisie how to use a knife. He says to win a knife fight, you need to make sure they’re cutting something disposable and you’re cutting something vital and then say something cool like “Wrong girl, wrong time.” Maisie repeats the line.
Ellie Takes The Giant Locust Sample
Ellie goes into a house by Farmer Perez where they have trapped a live locust, which is being guarded by his children. Ellie says she has been studying plants from a long time ago to protect plants and soil of today. She takes a DNA sample from the locust and says she needs to take the locust with her. Farmer Perez asks where and Ellie says she needs to get a second opinion.
Two Students at the Dig Site
Two young female students are laughing away on their phones and one reads an Instagram post saying that T-Rex only has a small brain. Alan Grant says the T-Rex was much smarter than they thought. One student shows him a recent photo and says this one has been around since the 90s and she doesn’t understand why they are digging for bones. Alan Grant is then called from above.
Kayla Selling the Lystrosaurus
The smuggler Wigi tells Kayla he wants to hire her for a shipping job. He looks at the Lystrosaurus and says it’s a very rare dinosaur. He offers her 2000 euros for it, but she refuses. He then offers 8000. Kayla asks what he’s going to do with it and he asks why she cares. In the theatrical version, Kayla just accepts 2000.
Claire Chased by Atrociraptor
When Claire is chased by the Atrociraptor, she runs through a clothesline before jumping between two buildings.
Owen and Claire on the plane
When Owen and Claire are in the cargo area of Kayla’s plane, Claire removes Owen’s jacket to look at his injured arm.
Maisie Hesitates To Leave The Shuttle
Alan says that they’re in an old mountain. Maisie hesitates, not wishing to go into a dark tunnel and wants to stay in the shuttle. Alan says it’s better to keep moving rather than staying still and Ellie is here with her. Maisie agrees to go with them.
Dodgson Finds The Hard Drive
Dodgson tries to delete some digital records of the locus experiment, but he gets an error message saying he needs to go to the main server to do it. He goes to the main server room and finds the right hard drive. Ramsay interrupts him and tells him he should accept responsibility for what happened and share his research with the world. Dodgson says he was once like Ramsay but realised he could not change anything at all. He walks off with the hard drive, saying that we don’t apologise for our mistakes, we erase them.
Other Deleted Scenes
The following scenes can be found in the novelisation and concept art.
Maisie Meets Beta Alternative
In the junior novelisation, Maisie feeds Beta toast and says that it has marmalade on it and the next time she feeds her, she will try peanut butter. Owen appears and when he sees Beta, he realises why he had seen two sets of footprints in the snow. Maisie then asks how Blue had an offspring. Owen replies that Blue was made in a laboratory.
Alternate Malcolm Speech
There was a different speech that Ian Malcolm said at the beginning of the film:
In the mind of a human being, a hundred years is a long time, but to the Earth a hundred years is nothing. A million years… nothing. We’ve been guests here for the blink of an eye and if we’re gone tomorrow, the Earth she ain’t gonna miss us. My point is that the planet is not in jeopardy, we are in jeopardy. Human beings have no greater right to safety and liberty than any other creature on this planet. We not only lack dominion over nature, we’re subordinate to it. Yet, humans destroy things so effectively. I sometimes wonder, “Is that our function?” maybe every few eons an animal comes along that’s exceptionally murderous so that evolution can proceed to its next phase. And now here we are with the opportunity to rewrite life […]
Ellie Shows The Locust To Grant
In the junior novelisation, Ellie and Grant are looking at the locust in his tent. Alan touched it through its cage with a pencil, and its wings fluttered and it changed colour. Ellie says that Grant is the only person she trusts with this. Ellie tries to convince Alan to go to Biosyn but Alan is unsure. Ellie says that science and life are messy and that they should stop a big company like Biosyn from inventing such a deadly pest.
Lowery Working at CIA
The character of Lowery Cruthers was going to return from Fallen Kingdom, but due to actor Jake Johnson’s schedule and the COVID-19 pandemic, he didn’t. Some concept art of him was released, showing him working at the CIA and talking to Owen and Claire at a cafe. Franklin Webb did that part instead. There is still a shot of Cruthers in the film. When Franklin scrolls through his tablet, you can see his CIA agent profile.
Black Market
The scene in Malta was going to be a lot longer with an appearance from an Elmisaurus which Kayla was going to ship. There was going to be a fight sequence between an Oviraptor and Lystrosaurus where the Oviraptor would be told off by its owner. The Allosaurus kills another person and throws it towards the Carnotaurus. This scene can be seen in the Extended Cut.
Malta
Originally, there was going to be a Suchomimus and a Carnotaurus chasing people. The Suchomimus was replaced with the Allosaurus.
Pyroraptor
It is rumoured that there was going to be footage with the Pyroraptor. There was a bit more dialogue in the novelisation, and there was also a Pyroraptor vs. Dilophosaurus Lego set that was released.
Malcolm Driving
There was a scene where Malcolm was driving full speed through the burning Biosyn Sanctuary and Alan Grant was telling him to slow down as he was about to kill them all.
Locust Sample
In the junior novelisation, the locust sample that Ellie took from the Biosyn lab would have fallen into the Giganotosaurus’s mouth at the research outpost’s balcony. Later, Alan finds the smoking locust there. He puts it on a table and Ellie snaps off a leg, which she uses as a new DNA sample. You can see part of this scene in the second trailer, where Ellie is hanging from the balcony and screaming “No, no” – perhaps after the locust has fallen into its mouth.
Alternate Final Battle
The final battle was going to take place outside a research outpost and the Pyroraptor would fight the Giganotosaurus instead of the Therizinosaurus.
T-Rex Flashback
After the Giganotosaurus first defeats the T-Rex, there was going to be a flashback from the Prologue where a T-Rex was killed by the Giganotosaurus in the Cretaceous period.
